Echinoidermata Ophiderma egertoni

Fossil Brittlestar prepared by Dave Halmkin. Collected from the "Starfish Bed" exposed on the coast between Seatown and Eype. The bed of brittlestars was created when a storm on land buried them in a thick deposit of sediment. Normally such delicate creatures would not be so well preserved.
