This is one of the most beutiful images I have ever had the privilege to view. The subject is delicate and lovely, the tones, soft and gorgeous. The most amazing thing, however, about this image is the difference in her expression in the mirror. It is altogether different from the reality of who she is. It conveys the duality of ourselves, the person we show to the world and the person who we really are, the person who we are when no one is looking. It is a brillant image, perfectly executed. Timeless...

I love this image for a number of reasons. The first being that it is a beautiful portrait with great lighting and tones as well as composition. On a more personal level, I remember doing this with my long braids as a girl!! In fact i would sometimes use my sweater or turtleneck if my hair wasn't down. There is just something comforting about it. Thirdly, she has a michievous glint in that blue green eye... I know nothing about that....!!! : )

Rob takes self portraits everyday. It is always interesting to see where he is or how he's feeling. Even more amazing, he travels so much and is in new places all the time. He is always able to use the place where he is to make an interesting self portrait. This particular image is wonderful because of it's weariness. The end of a long day, the beginning of a new long day to start all too soon. His use of light and space and the crispness of this image make it one of my favorites.
