Presiding Elder's House
This house is located on the corner of Oldham Avenue and Jackson Street. I lived in the house about ten years ago, and this picture was taken around Christmas, 1998. The house, known as the "Presiding Elder's House," for the First United Methodist Chruch was built in 1901 and is on The National Register of Historic Places. First United Methodist Church, at that time, was located on College Street.
The house was in the movie, "Love Hurts," which unfortunately never made it to the big screen, but was simply released to video. The movie starred Jeff Daniels, Cloris Leachman, John Mahoney and Judith Ivy.
