Formerly from the collection of furniture maker and decorative wood artist, Osmundo Esguerra

Found in the vestry room of a church, vestments and other paraphernalia used by the clergy are safely and neatly stored in cabinets like this. Assembled using hidden mortise and tenon joints, and reinforced with bronze nails with square hammered plateau head to keep the joints and moldings strong and tight. This church piece – the likes of which rarely comes out of its original intended location – features a scalloped crown, sitting above a façade of long cabinet door on either side of a fixed center. Each panel is accentuated by heavily channeled moldings, and all but two panels have pinwheel (full, half, and quarter), leaf, and addorsed tie carved with such bucolic naivety and charm characteristic of Bohol furniture. With square faceted door pulls, original keyhole on one door, and inside are three shelves for ample storage. It has perfect proportions and lovely, yellowish aged patina.
