The cathedral was built continuously from IX to XIX centuries; the facade (pictured here) was built in the Neo-Romanesque style in late XIX century. The relics of St. Andrew the Apostle, that were looted from the Byzantine Empire during the Fourth Crusade, are kept in the crypt.
