Stranger #28/100: Man and Wife

In this project, I have had pictures of a father and son, a group of skaters, and 2 lovely ladies who are co-employees in a mall but not a good-looking couple until this one.

These two were enjoying the parade when I spotted them holding hands in the streets. I approached the guy and asked if I could take their picture as a couple for this project. He readily agreed and posed with his lovely Filipina wife.

I found out that he was a British national and that they were taking a vacation in his wife's hometown. I told him how I would love to see Great Britain one day with its awesome landscapes. He went on to say however how disappointed he was about the London riots and so on and so forth, blah blah blah, etcetera and that he feels more secure in Davao City because of the laid-back environment and the security that the city government led by punching female Mayor Inday Sara provided. (Backstory: Mayor Inday Sara punched the court sheriff after refusing to hold for 2 hours the dismantling of a shanty area where riots also had started in opposition to the demolition just after the recent floods. It was caught on video www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AJu8W8SpKM&feature=related).

And oh, that shirt he is wearing, usually worn by patriots is a map of the Philippines with the 3 stars and a sun taken from the Philippine flag. He was very proud of his wife.

This picture is #28 in my 100 Strangers Project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at www.100Strangers.com
