Back Alley Gallery 1 - start here
I have hopefully disabled comments (except for people who are members of several mural groups) so these shot are easier to ignore if you have no interest in murals or street art.
In behind the shops in the centre of Lismore, New South Wales are a series of laneways or "Back Alleys" that have become a massive gallery of street art. I have included 22 shots here starting with this one which in my view is the best artistically. Sadly hidden partly by the Camry. Many, in fact most do not have attributions to their artists. I wanted to get as many of these into the flickr record, it's the largest collection of street art in one place that I have seen anywhere.
"Come and discover the hidden underground street art culture of The Back Alley Gallery in Lismore. The Back Alley Gallery is transforming the laneways of Lismore. You can't walk down the streets without finding something new on the walls. There are over sixty artworks, including large scale murals, graffiti art, paste-ups, stencils and installations. This outdoor art gallery is here for the community to enjoy and see that street art is alive, thriving, and an important part of the local art scene. Over twenty-five, artists have been featured on the laneway walls and come from Lismore, Nimbin, Byron Bay, Murwillumbah, Coffs Harbour, Brisbane and Germany. Start at The Gateway in Carrington Street at the 'You are Here' heart sculpture by Holly Ahern and Eden Crawford-Harriman, wandering through the colourful streets and laneways."
