A total tangle. (Telegraph Tuesday)

This is for my mate Steve. We both worked in the Government electricity distribution (poles and wires) industry for the majority of our working lives. Steve was in the engineering side and I was in management and logistics and we both saw enough poles, wires and transformers and all the other bits and pieces of getting power to the people to last several lifetimes. Thankfully both of us are now retired.

This shot was on the very straight and lonely 200 kilometre plus secondary road between Winton and Hughenden, Queensland on our recent holiday. Ergon had these unusual collections of poles, insulators and transformers etc in clutches like I have never seen before. I think they are special designs to cope with long single power lines to isolated cattle and sheep stations.

Certainly different in big sky country that was as flat as a table top where you could see to the horizon over grass covered grazing paddocks, broken occasionally by a bit of low scrub and a few trees.

This shot is not in sequence with my roll out of holiday shots.
