Trial Bay Gaol
The history of the Trial Bay Gaol (jail - I am using the spelling traditionally associated) in the present day Arakoon National Park, just south of South West Rocks, New South Wales is rather convoluted. Over the years it has been used for a variety of purposes. It is now a heritage site for which a fee applies to look inside. A lot of the structure, particularly roof is no longer in place. Prisoners potentially had a wonderful view out over the Pacific Ocean as it sits on the top of a headland - if only they could see out. Rather than copy a lot of information it's better to give the Wiki link. Enjoy reading.
