Australian White Ibis, Mooloolaba, Queensland.
Some call them "Bin Chickens" but I don't. I might be reinforcing the stereotype here but I couldn't resist! Who left the,lid open? In reality, they are no different to other species that want food and raid bins such as Crows and Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, or Dingoes or Drop Bears! The Cockatoos mentioned are apparently so bad and have found how to lift lids on wheelie bins in Sydney that owners have to weigh the lids down - see link below.
I guess if we were birds, we would look for the easiest way to get a meal too! And humans create the environment.
