I meant to put this up yesterday but I must have been in a blue frenzy and missed it. Today's lone shot! We were down in our usual afternoon stamping grounds at Cabbage Tree Creek, Shorncliffe a week ago at around twilight, not that we have twilight...make that sunset and I thought I would grab this shot of one of the prawn trawlers that tie up there. There was nobody about, all was quiet when this lady popped up on the trawler and came walking over to me standing on the edge of the creek in a half aggressive pose! I thought, oh here goes, what is on her mind as there was nothing illegal about me taking the shot.
Anyway, having had a couple of run ins (or is that runs in?) with people who just object to anyone with a big camera I waited for the harsh words. Next thing, she was telling me in no uncertain terms the name of her boat (notice it is not painted on the bow) as if to not miss any credit for its name and condition wherever the photo was going to end up. Getting this info out to the world was obviously of prime importance as she reinforced the name time and time again! I did assure her I would remember. Phew, no killer prawns attacking me or fishing lines with nasty hooks.
The upshot of all this was and is of course, I can't remember the name! Next time we pass I will get it and do an update of my description. If it was on the boat like others in the same area, she wouldn't have to rely on my dodgy memory. Maybe I should go back and tell he. On second thoughts....scratch that.
But I will give her and her trawler friends a plug - I doubt there would be fresher seafood and particularly prawns anywhere. The selling Co-op closed many years ago so they all sell straight off the boat. Can you imagine how busy they will be on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning? If you live in Brisbane, you probably already know this. If you don't, the borders will be open, book a flight and fill out a Queensland Border Pass!
