Confluence.
Country Australia at its best with the rivers full of water.
This is the junction of Castle Creek and the Dawson River in the town of Theodore in Central Queensland.
The spit of land between the two water courses is a "free camp" for those in caravans and motor homes and a very pleasant spot. At the time of our visit, New South Wales and Victoria were in long COVID lockdowns and Queensland was bursting at the seams with its own travelling populace plus many who were up here for winter and didn't want to go home to those lockdowns.
Out of sight beside and behind me are great lines of parked up vans and motor homes filled mainly with golden oldies or grey haired nomads, both of which my wife and I are. We just don't own a van.
