Walnut Commons-Street Level Perspective at Walnut and 2nd
The Walnut Commons project was designed while at Artech Design Group and consisted of 100 residential apartments, 1 retail bay on the lower level at 2nd and Walnut, and Lil' Miss Mag Daycare on the lower level of 2nd St. The project is roughly 100,000 sq. ft. and came in right under the allowable budget. I worked in conjunction with Bruce Simonson and David Hudson on the design concept and appearance of the final project, as well as helping to manage all aspects of the design. This was the most difficult project that I have ever worked on due to the various parties and conditions involved, including air rights issues, multiple owners, and HUD financing. I am pleased with the final result, and the project is due to begin construction in early 2011. Incidentally, this project is located across the street from the Hunter Museum, on Thomas Kute's site from the Urban Plaza Concept that also appears in my portfolio.
