Memories of a Golden age
Every time we go to scavenge supplies we find something one of us wishes we could forget. A video game console, an old phone, even sometimes just magazines. It only serves to remind us of everything we've lost even though we've built so much back up. Our children will never know how good of a world we came from, a world we went and ruined for them. All we had to do was talk to one another, instead we let missiles fly, and nuclear fire do the talking for us. We were supposed to leave the world a better place than we found it, now I find things so my children might just have a chance to survive. A tattered coat, a handful of ammo, maybe a teddy bear if there's room in the pack. Something to make their day in this life a little better.
