Old Gate of Tokyo Chofu Airport

Chofu Airport is a small airport in Tokyo. The airport with an 800m runway is used by propeller planes. New Central Airlines operates regular flights from the airport to Izu Islands.

 

The object shown in this photo says “Tokyo Chofu Airport.” But you need to walk a few minutes to the airport from here. When it was opened in 1941, it was much larger than the current airport, and this spot was its main entrance.
