“Moving Slope” in JR Musashi-kosugi Station
When a Platform for Yokosuka Line was opened in Musashi-kosugi Station in 2010 March, the passage way connecting the platform and a platform for Nanbu Line was not finished. The temporary path is shown in “Path in JR Musashi-kosugi Station.” It took more than one year to complete the new passage way. It was opened on June 25th 2011.
This photo shows “Moving slopes” of the new passageway. It is like an elevator, but the gradient is gentler, and it does not have steps. The distance between the two platforms is about 500m. So, JR people probably wanted to carry passengers not only vertically, but also horizontally.
