Embankment of the Tama River in Futako-tamagawa

Buildings are standing on both sides of this embankment. Some houses are located on the river bank of the Tama River for historical reason. If we had a flood, the houses on the bank might be damaged a lot.

 

Fortunately, a new embankment was built recently between this place and the river.
