Relief on Yanagishima-hashi

There are many artificial rivers in eastern part of Tokyo. The Yoko-jikken River is one of them. The river branches from the Kita-jikken River here, making a T-shaped waterway. Just under the horizontal bar of “T”, there is a bridge called Yanaghishima-hashi. This photo shows a relief on it.

This relief is a copy of an ukiyo-e by Hiroshige. Its title is “Yanagishima.” It shows this place’s landscape of 150 years ago. It is funny that Yanagishima-hashi exists there.

The view of the bridge is shown in “Yanagishima-hashi.”
