As the number of Keikyu 1000 series trains produced increased, there were concerns that 1XXX numbers might be used up. In 2021, Keikyu changed their numbering system. Until then, each car had a different four-digit number, but under the new system, the numbers are in the format 1XXX-Y, where the XXX part is the same for all cars in the train, and the Y part indicates that it is car No.Y. With this system, it is unlikely that the numbers will run out.
