New Road Opened at Enoki Intersection in May 2023
Tokyo Metropolitan Road Route 118 had been well known for being narrow and congested despite heavy traffic. The bypass was under construction for a long time, but in April 2023, its eastern half opened. This photo was taken at the eastern end of the new section one week after it opened. If you turn left at this intersection, you will reach the original road.
Originally, you could enter the old road by going straight, but the intersection has been redesigned by widening the sidewalk on the left side of the road so that it connects straight to the new road and you have to turn left to enter the old road.
