Tomei Junction Construction Site at the South of the Spot Where the Retaining Wall Collapsed
The cliff where the retaining wall collapsed in “Temporary Fix after Retaining Wall Collapsed beside Setagaya-dori 2” is a 30km long steep slope created by the Tama River system and is called the Kokubunji Cliff Line. A tributary flowing parallel to the cliff line in this area is the Nogawa River, which flows about 100 m south of the accident site.
Currently, the construction of Tomei Junction is underway along the river. A noise prevention cover covering the construction site can be seen from the accident site along Setagaya Street.
