Arch Bridge on the West Side of Sakuragi-cho Station
The elevated railroad of Tokyu Toyoko Line existed here, until 2004, when the section of the line between Sakuragi-cho and Yokohama was terminated and the line connected to Minato-mirai Line.
The arch did not exist at that time. It was built when the road under here was widened in the first half of 2010’s. It was rebuilt instead of demolished because there was a plan to open the old elevated railroad as a 1.8km-long pedestrian walkway. But the plan was slow to progress. This 160m-long section was opened to the public in July 2019.
