Old Path of Tokyo Metropolitan Road Route 124 near Keio Yomiuri Land Station
A photo taken at the same spot in 2020 is shown in “Tokyo Metropolitan Road and Kanagawa Prefectural Road Route 124 near Keio Yomiuri Land Station 2.” The old route climbed a hill along a valley, then turned left at a hairpin curve to reach Yomiuri Land, where the Ferris wheel is visible in the left half of this photo. The new route branched off to the right here, entered a tunnel, made a large loop, then passed above the tunnel and finally connected to the hairpin bend. This was a temporary route, and eventually the valley of the old route would be filled in, and the route would shortcut the hairpin bend. In this photo, you can see a wall being built at the end of the old route. Landfilling on the other side was under way.
