Hyakunin Isshu No.82 of Yoga Promenade

The poet is Do-in Hoshi. “Hoshi” means he was a priest. Do-in is his name as a priest. His name before he became a priest was Fujiwara-no Atsuyori.

 

The poem is about the troubles of love. Being coldly treated by the person he loves, his life endures the grief somehow, but tears cannot.
