View of the Tama River near Benten-bashi

The red gate is the famous “torii” of Haneda airport. It was a gate of a Shrine called “Anamori Jinja.” After WWII finished, U.S. occupation forces moved the shrine, but this torii was remained somehow. It was told that every time they tried to move it, they had some accident. I do not know if the rumor holds some truth or not. Anyway, people did not want to move it for a long time. It stood in the parking space of the airport for 50 years. Finally, it was moved 800m in 1999 and settled in the current place.
