Western End of Low-ceilinged Tunnel in Shinagawa in 2021 April
The bridge ahead tells where the old entrance of the tunnel used to be. After Yamanote Line tracks and Keihin-tohoku Line tracks were moved, the ceiling of the tunnel had been removed.
Northbound track of Keihin-tohoku Line had had an overpass above a Yamanote Line track here. Part of its support remained on the walls of both sides. A photo of the support taken in 2019 November is shown in “Keihin-tohoku Line Bridge over Low-ceilinged Tunnel in Shinagawa in 2019 November.” Another photo of the support taken at the same day is shown in “Low-ceilinged Tunnel in Shinagawa in 2019 November” It is interesting that a sign telling the address of the spot (“Konan 2-chome 1”) was attached on the support. The address is the same as the sign in “Eastern Entrance of Low-ceilinged Tunnel in Shinagawa in 2021 April.”
