Miyasaka Itchome No.2 Crossing

The name of the crossing is “Miyasaka Itchome No.2.” I searched “Miyasaka Itchome” or “Miyasaka Itchome No.1” crossing, but it seems that there is no crossing with the name. Perhaps it was removed?

The closest station of Setagaya Line is “Miya-no-saka.” But the name of this area seems to be “Miyasaka.” The name means “Miya(shrine) no(of) Saka(slope).” With or without “no (of),” the meaning is the same.

Information on the web says that “Miya-no-saka” was the name of a slope at the north of Miya-no-saka Station. It is at the eastern side of Setagaya-hachiman Shrine. Then, the name was assigned to larger area in 1964, but Setagaya Ward Office removed “no” in the name at that time.
