This streetcar has a box on the roof at the tail. Four train in ten 300 series (from 301 to 304) have the box.
According to the web, when the first 300 series debuted, it did not have the box. Then, a problem concerning brake system was found. Since it had only regenerative braking system and air braking system, the driver had some problem when there were not enough running trains. The box was added when Tokyu added rheostatic braking. After train 304 debuted, the design of 300 series was modified again, and trains after 305 do not have the box.
