Matsumi-zaka Crossing in 2020 May
It may be hard to notice, but a plane is shown at the top of a building near the center of this photo.
Landing route to Haneda Airport in a south wind was changed at the end of 2020 March. Before the change, planes flew along the shore of Tokyo Bay to avoid city area, turning to the left. The route became straight: Planes fly above Shinjuku and Shibuya, the southwestern part of Yamanote Line toward the airport.
Government said the straight route would allow more planes landing at Haneda. But the number of planes decreased a lot because of corona virus pandemic. When will we need the increased capacity? Nobody knows.
