This part of Tachikawa Station opened in 2016 August. North ticket gate of JR Tachikawa Station is at the right side of the passage. On the left side of the passage is “Ecute Tachikawa Osoto.” “Ecute” is a brand of JR East’s shopping mall mainly inside of ticket gate. However, “Ecute Tachikawa” exists in and out of ticket gate. When this part of “Ecute Tachikawa” opened, JR East appended “Osoto (outside)” to its name to make it clear that it was outside of the ticket gate. (There are two parts of “Ecute Tachikawa” that exist inside of ticket gate. They are named “Ecute Tachikawa Ekinaka East” and “Ecute Tachikawa Ekinaka West.” “Ekinaka” means “inside of station.”)
