Construction of New Platform of Saikyo Line in Shibuya Station in 2019 May
Due to space limitation, Shibuya Station had inconvenient layout: Since Saikyo Line platform cannot be beside Yamanote Line platform, it was at the south of the south end of Yamanote platform. After Toyoko Line moved to underground in 2013 March, work to move Saikyo Line platform beside Yamanote platform started.
This photo shows the new platform under construction in 2019 May. It was taken from a Yamanote Line train while it was stopping at Shibuya Station. The other side of the new platform was already used as a path for passengers to change trains. So, some people is shown there.
The platform was moved in 2020 June.
