Kinegawa-bashi

Kinegawa-bashi is a bridge across the Arakawa River. According to the document of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, there are only two street truss bridges among the bridges across the Arakawa River in Tokyo. And the other one, the bridge of Shutoko Wangan Line, has the truss structure under the road. So, Kinegawa-bashi is the only bridge where cars go through the truss. On the other hand, all railroad bridges across the Arakawa River are truss bridges, and the trains go through the truss. Why truss bridge is used more for railroad? There should be reason, but I do not know.

At the right end of the photo is a railroad bridge of Keisei Oshiage Line. If you enlarge this photo, you will find the top of Mt. Fuji behind some buildings near the farther end of the bridge. When I took this, I did not notice it.
