Level Crossing of JR Tracks under Tokyu Oimachi Line Track at the South of Osaki
Shonan-shinjuku Line branches from Yokosuka Line here. Usually, JR East avoids level crossing, but JR East had no other way because elevated railroad of Tokyu Oimachi Line and elevated railroad of Shinkansen exist above the branching point.
The scissor crossing limits the traffic capacity of the lines. JR East has a plan to remove the level crossing by adding a bridge at the north of this spot, but it has not been carried out yet.
