At the Other Side of the Bridge behind the Old Red Gate

After I took “Bridge behind the Old Red Gate”, I went on the bridge. On the other side of the bridge is a small island.

 

This picture shows the view of the downstream direction from the island. The old red gate exists on the right side of me. When the red gate was used, this place was not an island, but the bank between the Sumida River and the Arakawa River (it was called the Arakawa Flood-control Channel in those days). When the red gate retired, they created the channel in front of me and the blue gate.
