Tokyu Oimachi Line 6020 Series Train at Mizonokuchi Station
In 2018 March, Tokyu Corporation introduced new series to Den’en-toshi Line and Oimachi Line. Tokyu could not assign number X000 to the series, because all numbers X000 were already assigned to active trains. Even numbers 0*** were used for 8500 series after 87** and 88** were used up. So, Tokyu chose the number 2020 and 6020: 2020 for Den’en-toshi Line, and 6020 for Oimachi Line (Recently, 3020 series for Meguro Line was announced). They are based on “sustina” which is the braind name of Japan Transport Engineering Company. One of the examples of “Sustina” based train is JR East E235 series.
