Pavement Telling History of Ring Road No.8
After taking "Tokyo Monorail Train Passing by Construction Site", I walked a little, and took this one.
The pavement tells that Ring Road No.8 is moved for the construction work.
Tokyo Monorail track runs on the center divider of the road around this area. But, at this corner, the radius of the monorail track curve was larger than the radius of the road curve. That is, the monorail track went over the road to the inner side of the corner, then, it went over the road again and returned to the center divider.
Now the road has been moved so that the track always runs on the center divider. But the old pavement still remains.
One thing I noticed is that the current monorail track uses steel enhanced beam and the interval between the supports is longer here. The reason should be the track went over the road twice.
