In these days, the word Kamikaze mostly refers the suicide attack in WWII. But the word originally means "Wind of God", and this plane does not have anything to do with the attack.
Kamikaze went from Tokyo to London in 1937 and won a prize offered by a French paper as the first plane to go between Paris and Japan within 100 hours.
Kamikaze and "Koken Long Range Research Plane" are very important planes in Japanese aviation history, but there are not many Japanese who know them.
