The first car has a pantograph. It is a feature that we do not see on recent trains. Since having motor and driver’s cabin makes the car heavy, there are not many head cars with a pantograph. But 8500 series appeared in 1970’s. 8500 series train on Oimachi Line has five cars, and four of them have motors.
