"Island" on Shio-saki-bashi Crossing

This is the view of the diagonal corner from the spot shown in "Signals Work at Shio-saki-bashi Crossing".

 

The narrow road is actually a left-turn lane. Since the timing for the left-turn lane and straight through lane are different, you cannot go across the road at once. After you go across the left-turn lane, you have to wait at the red signal on an "island".
