Cleaning Tyres at Tama-chan Gate

He is washing dirty tyres before the car goes out to the road. The gate's name「329号線タマちゃんゲート」 is written on a piece of paper. It means "route 329, Tama-chan Gate" in Japanese.

Route 329 is the number of the road (not a national road. It is a local number).

Tama-chan is the name of an arctic seal who appeared at Tama river several years ago. He was very popular for about one year in Japan until he returned to the ocean. The place Tama-chan firstly appeared is several kilometers downriver from here Futako-tamagawa, but it is still the same Tama river. Some Tama-chan fan named the gate after him. Funny.
