50090 series is intended to be used for “TJ Liner” service. The pattern of the seats can be changed for usual commuter service and TJ Liner service. When a 50090 series are used for commuter service, seats are set in “long-seat”: passengers sit facing toward the side. The seats are changed to “cross-seat” when the train is used as TJ Liner. Passengers sit toward the traveling direction.
