Eastern End of Old Route 246 in Setagaya
Route 246 between here and Seta was altered in 1960’s. This road is the old route, and the road with elevated expressway is the current Route 246.
Streetcar track of Tokyu Tamagawa Line was built before the route switch, so it existed along the old route. Then, the line was terminated in 1969, and new underground railroad “Shin-tamagawa Line” started the service in 1977. The new line was built along the old route 246. I think there was a discussion to build the line along the new Route 246, but I have not found any information about it.
