“Non-Tora” Car in JR Tokyo Synthesis Vehicle Center

These yellow cars are called “Non Tora.” A pair of “Non-Tora” is used to carry a train car. One is attached to the head, the other is attached to the tail.

 

Information on web says that the word “Non-Tora” is a shortened form of “non traverser.” It seems to mean that “a train car carrier which is not traverser.” Sounds like another Japanese-English.
