Shutoko Ichi-no-hashi Junction and Shin-ichi-no-hashi Intersection

The panel on the traffic signal says “Shin-ichinohashi.” Shin means “new.” Ichi-no-hashi means “bridge No.1.” “Ichi-no-hashi” exists near this place, and the junction above is named after it. At first, I thought that there was a bridge named “Shin-ichi-no-hashi” near this spot. But I could not find any bridges other than “Ichi-no-hashi” here. Instead, I found an intersection named “Ichi-no-hashi.” It seems that the name “Shin-ichinohashi” does not mean “new bridge No.1,” but “new intersection near bridge No.1.”
