Former Prentice Women's Hospital

Formerly the Prentice Women’s Hospital, designed by Bertrand Goldberg and built in 1975, this building has been the object of much debate when Northwestern Memorial Hospital transferred ownership to Northwestern University, which wants to demolish it and build a new medical research facility in its place. Preservation groups are pushing for landmark designation, to save the building from destruction. The architect also designed the Marina Towers in Chicago.
