there's something special about lighthouses,

the sense of these powerful sentinels

standing protectively against the elements

... and all that sort of thing...

and Cape Byron Lighthouse is no different

with its own remarkable history of tragic tales.

 

.. this is actually a five shot vertical panorama

one of those shots I had all sorts of hopes for

that became one of those photoshop missions

of endless tweaking, blending and matching

undistortioning, perspectiving and snarling....

one of those grand ideas that never quite made it
