Old Railway Station, Jerusalem
In the heart of Jerusalem, between the Old City and the historic neighborhoods of the German Colony and Yemin Moshe, lies the first train station of Jerusalem. It was built in 1892 and served as the city’s main transport route until 1998, when it was closed completely and left abandoned and neglected. Today, after extensive conservation and renovation work, the First Station is open once again except this time as a center for leisure, culture, restaurants and sporting activities; it has since become one of the most popular attractions in Jerusalem.
