Timbuktu's Rightful Heritage

How much more can Mali and, especially Timbuktu, take? I am really too upset to even talk about it, so you will be spared the long caption that usually accompanies my photos. It is a sad day for Timbuktu. The door of the Sidi Yahya mosque has been destroyed and over the past two days, the Djinguereber mosque, pictured here, has had its shrines and tombs destroyed. Both are part of the city's Unesco World Heritage designation but are deemed unacceptable by Islamist militants.
