Earthquake country ( 2 )
A more recent shot of Kaikoura (aerial shot from Sep 2016). It's been badly affected by today's earthquake and aftershocks, and has all access cut off.
There was a M7.5 near the top of the South Island (NZ) at 2 mins past midnight. It woke up the whole country. It woke me through 2 sleeping tablets, and everything was rocking and rolling big time.
I'm lucky I'm far enough away from the epicenter that I only feel the bigger ones. I've got shell mobiles and other hanging things around the place that swing whenever a quake comes through. There are lots of ones that I wouldn't notice, but they do.
