We are in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada ... at the very south end of Lake Huron where the waters discharge into the St Clair River. Lake Huron is one of the five "Great Lakes" of North America. Winter winds have been blowing from the north and the waves have broken on the seawall for hours. It is several degrees below freezing and the water spray has coated the bench, the ground and the surrounding bushes.
The middle of the river is the local border between Canada and the United States. The view across the river is the lighthouse of Port Huron, Michigan, USA.
